My client are disrupting the property market with a product that revolutionised the way people do business. They are the only company doing what they are doing and have huge growth plans over the next two years as they expand globally and in the UK.
As a result they are looking for a Lead Front End Developer to join (and lead) their current front end team of three (Senior, Mid and Junior). The Lead will still be very hands on working on the development of new features to their product in React. If you have Angular skills as well then great as they are migratingALL their old Angular components into React. All greenfield development and new features the Lead and rest of the Front End team will be working on will be react.
The Lead Front End Developer role has a lot of scope and can be quite fluid as the business grows. If you want the role to grow into an even more senior / management role that is fine. If you want to stay as the Tech Lead and remain hands on that is also fine – they will work around you.
Day to Day you will be leading the team on technical decisions, mentoring and pairing with other team members and providing the guidance that you would expect from an over-arching technical lead, whilst still being instrumental in the day to day development of new features. You will be given a good amount of technical autonomy and influence on technical decisions as the product and business grows.
Key Skills?
These guys aren’t too het up that you have 3 years commercial react and come from an Angular background. They just want solid front end Javascript skills and someone who shares their values of collaboration, can get behind and see the vision of a new product and someone who can help the team achieve technical excellence and best practice in what they do.
If you do bring with you solid React, Angular, Webpack, Grunt, Redux experience then great but it’s not an issue if you don’t. They just want solid ES6 Javascript skills.
These guys are on a mission and work together as a real team, regular standups and whiteboard sessions and weekly one on ones with the Head of Development who you will directly report to. They are invested in their people and are about to go global in their reach so this is the perfect time for a Tech Lead who a) wants to join a company as a Tech Lead with the real prospect of become Director/VP/Head of Front End or equally someone who wishes to make a real impact at Tech Lead level developing others whilst still remaining in the weeds. It is up to you.
